WIP: Eisenkern five-man squad....

...is now complete. The fifth trooper is attached to the 'jeep' and I just need to add some equipment and weapons (driver's and officer's back-pack and weapons particularly) to the vehicle. I didn't quite get the stance of the final trooper quite right (you might have noticed his right foot doesn't quite touch the floor) but I'll sort that when I attach it permanently to a base.

Making a 'universal' base...

...to photograph vehicles. I need a base of sorts to place the 'Eisenkern Jeep' upon so I can fix the fifth trooper in the correct position at the rear of the vehicle so I decided to make a base I could re-use. It's supposed to be a stretch of road that has partially collapsed. It's been a long, long time since I've actually 'made' a base rather than just paint a manufactured one. I've only primed and airbrushed a few shades of grey so far but I'm reasonably pleased how it's turned out so far.

WIP: Eisenkern five-man squad...

...trooper number five almost ready. Just a few details to paint then I need to make a vignette base before I can attach him to the' jeep' .

Hasslefree sci-fi troopers

...together. I quite like the idea of posing figures against vehicles and cropping them right down. I'll do more I think.

Hasslefree female sci-fi trooper and Antenociti vehicles...

...on a base (Fenris 120mm 'Sulaco' oval). She will stay on this base with one of the vehicles below. Which do you think works best? 'Meercat'...

Hasslefree Sci-Fi female trooper...

... in power armour. Another stunning Kev White sculpt - this is one of the resin masters. Just needs a base (as usual!)

Bloody hell, 'G' - that was quick...

...and very bloody nice too! I've been trying to find time to finish Kev's new Sci-fi, power-armoured troopers but Gigers beat me to it and did a super job  - had to stay up late and do a bit more.

'Here Come the Judge'...

...it's always very flattering (and very ego-boosting) when somebody professes to like your artistic endeavour - be it as a practising Fine Artist (abstract painting isn't to everybody's taste of course)...

or as a Wargaming miniature painter...

but I've never been asked to judge somebody else's work until very recently. Dropship Horizon have decided to hold a 15mm Sci-Fi painting competition, the details of which you'll find here, and I've agreed to help judge the entries. The competition has been supported by a number of manufacturers (and the list is still growing) offering prizes for the winners.
I'm sure this will be a very popular competition and I hope it's success makes it a very regular event. I'm really looking forward to seeing the entries as I know there are some great 15mm sci-fi painters in our hobby.
I'll be looking out for the miniatures that make me say "I wish I'd painted that!"
Good luck and happy painting!
David

'Incy Wincy...'

...having a little update to go with the other recent 28mm Antenociti vehicles.

WIP: 'Fiddler' mech...

...has had minor repairs completed on the manipulators and the arms temporarily attached.

Give me a shoulder to...

...paint a red cross on! Haven't added any rust yet.

WIP: Antenociti 28mm G.O.T. vehicles...

...have not been forgotten and I've been working away steadily to make some progress. The two 'Meercats' and 'Warthog ADVs' have their basic camo and the panel lines and raised detail has been lined and edged; tyres are painted and though some details still need painting they're ready for decals.

Getting ahead with the 'Leviathan'...

...or the 'Leviathan' gets a head! An all to brief return to my Dreamforge Leviathan but long enough to paint the grill work and start the lenses before attaching to the torso.
