Difficult to believe I know...

...but the detail on this lovely resin Drop-Pod is not from a large scale kit but is actually designed for 15mm wargaming and is only about 35mm high! It is the first 'vehicle' released from what is planned to be quite an extensive range of sci-fi figures, vehicles and other items by Clear Horizon Miniatures, brainchild of my good forum buddy Mr.H.
If the Drop-Pod ( actually a Direct Intervention Vehicle) is anything to go by then this series will prove to be both imaginative and of the highest quality. I look forward to seeing (and painting) lots more.
WIP starts here...

Remember this great little Grymn 'Walker'...

...from fabulous Hasslefree?

...well I'm going to do a little more work on it  - I think the weapons need a bit of a lift and I might add some markings - mainly because Hasslefree have a couple of variants at the WIP stage including the one below and, hopefully, an open-cockpit version which I must have!

WIP: Eisenkern 'Leviathan' pt.9 revisited...

...because I wasn't happy with the colour of the alien 'mech' - not alien enough? Anyway it's now repainted and almost finished.

Sunday 4 August 2013

WIP: Eisenkern 'Leviathan' pt.9...

...alien mech pilot painted. I'm not too sure about the mech though - the blue 'primer' has got to go I think.

WIP: Eisenkern 'Leviathan' pt.8...

...first element of the base: an alien 'mech' hit by the Levaithan's Vulcan cannon, decapitated and squashed underfoot (along with the unfortunate pilot)!
Base-coated and first stage of weathering  started....

As Jed continues to work on the concept....

...for the 'Trackball' tank (can we have an open hatch in the turret) I thought I'd remind you that Antenociti's Workshop have a rather nice hover tank in their range - the Skorpion

Our wonderful summer continues...

...but it's not condusive to painting production as paint is drying very quickly and water in the pots is evaporating. I work in a renovated attic space which is roomy and well organised (if a little untidy) but it is not an ideal working space if the weather is either very cold or very hot (it's a bit like a sauna at the moment) as it affects not just the paint but also my desire to paint. I've managed to continue with the 'Leviathan' in short bursts but the time required to prep, prime, basecoat and layer paint the top coat on figures is not worth contemplating until the weather cools substantially. My apologies to the two gentlemen (and Mark) who are still waiting for 'stuff' - I hope to be able to recommence very shortly.
