Frothers Charity...

...here's a link to the info about procuring the miniatures - be quick though!

Frothers Charity time again...

... and this year Jon Atter has used his powers of persuasion to not only gain permission for use of this iconic imagery but again to persuade several of our hobby's top sculptors to produce them in miniature form - and what a superb job they've done!
I'm sure you're all familiar with Tank Girl and her 'partner', Booga, in cartoon form but have a look at these beauties...
Tank Girl herself sculpted by Kev White

and Booga by Steve Blunt

Jon has sent me a resin master copy of Booga (tank Girl to follow I hope - and a tank!) to paint and I've made a start. Just the head so far (sunglasses not quite finished)...

I'm sure I read somewhere that Jon said there are still a few of the miniatures left (I'll check) so don't miss out and it is, of course, for charity!

WIP: Clear Horizon 15mm Raven-Class Medium Assault VTOL...

...I've painted quite a few 15mm vehicles and aircraft over the last couple of years for a couple of companies but as I'm not really a painter and collector (ha - I have a display cabinet full of the stuff!) I don't actually buy many 15mm models but these I couldn't resist - Mr. H's VTOL's  (I've got the Sparrowhawk too!). I've managed a basic camo scheme and some ID markings so far - next up will be a gloss coat and a few decals.

WIP: Khurasan 15mml 'Sobek' Federal Tank-Hunter

...bit of a surprise this - it arrived in the box with the 'Grifons' and Jon hadn't mentioned it. Can't really see it here but it has an AG drive. I'll take some better pics soon.

WIP Khurasan 15mm Nova Respublik 'Grifon' APC...

...tracked and AG drives. Only just finding time to continue with these - they now have a basecoat and the first of the camo colours applied.

WIP: Antenociti 15mm G.O.T. vehicles...

...a fair bit of 15mm on the painting table now and for a few weeks. First off the Antenociti vehicles last seen with a base-coat now has the first camo colour. I'd had some difficulties when masking and airbrushing their larger (28mm) 'brothers and sisters' with paint peeling when I removed the blu-tak masking. While I was pretty sure the peeling was due to painting over the primer Jed had used to prep the vehicles I didn't want to take any chances so I put them to one side for a couple of weeks for the paint to really harden. No problems with this batch. The third camo colour will be applied by brush.

This is huge!

...it's a Ratgard 'Cargo R.A.T.' Heavy Carrier which I spotted posted on TMP and liked the look of so bought one - and it is big!  Check out the website to see the breakdown of parts (there'a quite a lot) and a nicely built and painted model. The vehicle is very cleanly cast in resin with just a few, minimal 'pour plugs' to remove before building can commence. I've built the R.A.T. in subsections - cab, cargo bed and tracks to ease painting later. Fit of parts is exemplary - indeed most of it just clips together including the tracks (a very good fit) which are still awaiting a touch of superglue to secure them. The track units being modular are a little fiddly to build and I've actually left off the hull bottom on the tack unit as I couldn't get the several panels to fit easily. I'll go back and sort this out later. Three of the cargo bed panels are hinged and can be opened and closed (hence the brass paper clips) and the two cabin units are hollow with insets for the seperate doors. I've cut out one of the apertures and may add a seat and some controls which will suggest an interior through the partially open door.
Here's a few pics...

Hasslefree Sci-fi trooper (male) 2...

...revised. A few of the forum members where I regularly post images mistook the off-white' ID banding' for extreme highlights so I removed it (apart from the upper back torso and calf armour which I repainted orange). I also changed the base for a different Fenris 'Ark' base as the trooper wasn't 'standing' correctly on the previous one.

...I thought the 'suit was looking a little bland so added some ID bands and a few decals. needs a little weathering now.
