WIP: Eisenkern 'Leviathan' pt.7...

...legs almost complete. I'll add pigments when I mount the 'Levi' to a base and the 'moving' parts need a little oil and grease but I'm going to move up to the torso and start weathering there next.

WIP: Eisenkern 'Leviathan' pt.6...

...further elements of the armour plating added (much of it still dry-fitted - and a bloody good fit it is; no blu-tak here!) and the Vulcan cannon has been airbrushed in it's basic colours. Got the brushes out and added a little more weathering to the leg armour and highlighted some of the edges and rivets on the chest and head armour.

WIP: Eisenkern 'Leviathan' pt.5...

...armour painting (cont'd). Replacement paint arrived so finished airbrushing the armour plating and started the initial weathering (much of the armour plating is still only temporarily attached hence the shoulder pad positioning in the photo directly below).

WIP: Eisenkern 'Leviathan' pt.4...

...Field Grey armour.Well, I started painting the armour with the airbrush - Tamiya Dk.Green, then Field Grey and Field Grey with a little Sky - but quickly ran out of the Dk.Green (order placed!). I've also started adding some shading and highlighting to the 'dull grey' metallics but I'll only do this to areas that aren't hidden by the armour plating.

WIP: Eisenkern 'Leviathan' pt.3...

...dull grey metalwork. Airbrushed with progressively lighter shades of grey to create (hopefully) a subtle 'zenithal' effect.

In the photos below I've temporarily added some of the armour to give me some indication of the areas that are hidden and therefore don't require additional work. I'm still debating what colour the armour should be - favouring Field Grey at the moment...

WIP: Eisenkern 'Leviathan' pt.2...

...priming. I'm building and painting in stages; all parts are primed black and I'll start the 'metalwork' next. I'd mentioned earlier about the Levathan's positionability and at the moment I have 'him' looking down at something near his feet. I might have him stomping something...

WIP: Eisenkern 'Leviathan'.

Inspired by Przemyslaw Szymczyk's stunning build/paint of the Leviathan posted on Dreamforge's blog and because it's very hot and uncomfortable painting in my attic workspace this week (proper British summer - not complaining) I took the huge box of Leviathan parts down into the conservatory (bit of model making and a lot of stepping into the garden to bask in the sun) and started building....
Managed to get the 'machine' parts of the two legs completed but have still to clean up joins and the very few mould lines on the parts (much of which will be hidden by the armour)

Engineering and fit of parts is excellent ( the legs are very poseable) and I've used very little glue at this stage...

WIP: Eisenkern 'mech'...

...progressing. Pilot is almost finished and the mech is 'getting there'

Khurasan 15mm 'Cormorant' Dropship...

...available soon! Much of the panelling on the main hull is a  'trompe-l'oeil' effect and is not a feature of the model.

the pod is seperate and can be mounted with the ramp fore or aft (the design suggests this should face aft)
